Hi! I’m Mike Lamont, founder of Royal Wildlife™. I'm a wildlife photographer, serial entrepreneur, and creator with a lifelong passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world. Growing up as a military brat, I had the rare opportunity to live and travel across the United States, including eight years in Europe. Those experiences sparked a love for travel, photography, and design that has shaped my life ever since.

My journey into photography began in college, where I studied photography and graphic design alongside International Business. When my kids were active in sports, I honed my skills through sports photography, mastering the art of capturing fast-moving subjects. Over the years, I upgraded my gear and transitioned mostly into wildlife photography, my true creative passion!

Living in Utah has given me access to some of the most breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife in America, from the rugged Wasatch Mountains to the iconic Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks in Wyoming. My kids inherited my travel bug and have lived in places like Hawaii and Alaska, giving me countless opportunities to photograph wildlife in extraordinary settings. Our family adventures are always planned around wildlife seasons and prime viewing times — whether it’s grizzly bears in the Tetons, orcas in Alaska, or wild horses in Utah’s Cedar Mountains.

In 2020, I co-founded an apparel design and production company with my oldest son. Combining my photography with our in-house embroidery, screen printing, and custom apparel capabilities has been a dream come true. Every Royal Wildlife™ product is inspired by real encounters in the wild and crafted with the highest quality materials and techniques.
